DESCRIPTION:
APW - Hamilton, Grade 946 with very rare Ferguson dial, 23J, 18S, nickel OF display recase, Ferguson style white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, ornate nickel damascene, s#550620. This watch is highlighted by its eye-catching and original Ferguson dial in very rarely seen true double-sunk format. The more commonly seen original Ferguson dial style is a one-piece dial with impressed seconds-register and center section, with a signature above center of "Ferguson Dial Patented for Hamilton Watch," and with a "Swiss Made" marking and series of international patent dates to its reverse. The present dial differs notably in its true double-sunk construction with soldered dial segments, with its "Hamilton" signature above center in combination with "Ferguson Dial Patented" around center, and with no markings to its reverse. From the Estate of Henry Betjemann of Bradenton, Florida.
